im the girl....

You might not know this but....

im the girl who cries every night
for his safe return home.

Im the girl who drags herself out
of bed every morning so that he will
be proud of me when he comes home.

im the girl laying in bed longing for him....
to be next to me.

Im the girl who sits quietly....
because all i can think about is
the next moment when he will
safely be in my arms again.

Im the girl who checks her phone
every five seconds just to make sure
i haven't missed his call.

Im the girl who stops and stares
and wishes for him to return soon
each and every time another man
walks by in uniform.

What you dont know is that
i know love on an entirely different
level than most.....
i know love that spans
time and space.

Im one of the girls who waits for
months for a single kiss.
a kiss that will make the months
apart worth every second.

A kiss where everything in the
world stops for what seems
like an eternity.

You dont know that every time
he leaves a part of me goes with
him and a part of him stays with me.

You tell me you know how i feel
and understand what im going through....
you have no idea.

You dont see that im one of the few
who gets goosebumps as my little
heart fills with pride every time the
National Anthem is played.

Im one of the girl who will stand
tall and stay stong on the outside
but im dying in the inside.

Im one of the girls who will make friends
with complete strangers for only they can
begin to understand what im going through.

You dont understand that I picture his
face every where I go and that he is
with me with everything that i do.

You dont know the feeling the first
time you hear the word deployment
or the feeling of his hand as it slides
out of yours..which could be the last.

You dont know what that last hug
or kiss means or how important
that goodbye really is.

What you dont see is that
he needs me just as much
as i need him.

Im one of those girls who
does not only stand behind
but also beside my soldier.

Stands proud behind her hero

Stands strong behind her man.

Watching silently and Patiently
as he serves and defends our country...
We are proud of...
 our Soldiers,
our Airmen,
our Sailors,
and our Marines.

You dont have to support the war
in order to support our troops.
Thank to all who serve.
